An amazing, record-breaking 9,360 pounds (Lawton = 3,752 pounds and Paw Paw = 5,608 pounds) of non-perishable food donations was collected through the generous response of members of our communities last Saturday during the National Association of Letter Carriers' annual "STAMP OUT HUNGER" Food Drive. The Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive, the country's largest one-day food drive, provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need.

Through the efforts of our local letter carriers in promoting the food drive and collecting the food and our pantry volunteers in receiving, weighing, and sorting the food, those non-perishable food donations provide a huge boost to the inventory at Eleanor's Pantry, as well as pantries and food banks across the nation.

In 2009, Eleanor’s Pantry opened its doors to pantry guests living in the Lawton and Paw Paw communities. Supported through the generosity of local businesses, churches, organizations, and community members, the pantry’s mission is to enhance the health of our communities by making supplemental food and necessities easily accessible to our neighbors in need.

Eleanor’s Pantry is a completely volunteer nonprofit organization. This means that 100% of each donation is used to provide food and basic needs for approximately 600 children and adults each month with this number projected to increase as inflation impacts personal budgets.

Our pantry guests are currently able to visit the pantry twice per month. The pantry follows the guest choice food pantry model – allowing its guests seeking assistance to choose for themselves what products they receive based on current inventory.

Eleanor’s Pantry is an Agency Partner of Feeding America.
