Once again employee volunteers at the Welch’s Lawton Plant launched a plant-wide food drive asking for donations and volunteers to assemble Kids’ Snack Bags for the kids of pantry guests. This effort produced over 200 snack bags, which are currently being distributed at the pantry. Each bag contains Welch’s fruit drinks, and individual-size packages of crackers, applesauce, fruit snacks, and granola bars.
Madison Woodard, Human Resources Manager, and Dale Olmstead, Plant Manager, at Welch’s personally delivered the donations to the pantry. This effort was a huge success last year and is once again bringing delight to kids visiting the pantry this Summer.
Welch’s sustainability initiative of “Growing Tomorrow Together” includes sustainable practices, one of which is that of Serving the Community. It states that “Welch’s employees and farmers are committed to improving the communities in which we work and live. We show this commitment through donating our products to help feed families in our local communities and through encouraging employee volunteerism.”
Thank you for your continued support and for making a difference in the lives of our pantry guests' kids with something extra special!
